Dress design for Shabby Apple dresses

It's that time of year again:) The Shabby Apple Dare to Design Contest is here. I decided to make two designs for my "Shabby Apple Dresses".
These designs are for Spring 2011
Enjoy and Wish Me Luck!

Design 1

"Spring Fling"
I love this dress for spring!

Inspiration:
I was inspired by spring flowers with this design.

Fabric/Design Details:
I love the contrast between the pale peach bodice and slate grey ruffled pencil skirt. I used a satin cotton for the top of the dress and a cotton/linen blend for the bottom.

The dress has a scoop neckline and a capped sleeve. The cute cap sleeve has a pin tuck detail to give the sleeves a little pop.

Design 2

"Promenade"

Inspiration:
Promenade: A leisurely walk, especially one taken in a public place as a social activity.
Living in San Francisco, one of my favorite spots is Fisherman's Wharf. I love the boats, sea lions, and the ocean. I designed this dress with a nautical theme.

Fabric/Design Details:
There's nothing better than a crisp white cotton dress in Spring. This dress would be made of a white stretch poplin with navy blue striped details on the bottom of the dress. The neckline and sleeves will also have a navy detail to make the white stand out.

The dress has a a classic silhouette making it a must have for Spring!
